Overview
This website uses no cookies, no local storage in your browser, no analytics or advertising tools, no external fonts, no content delivery networks and no embedded content from other providers. The link to TikTok is a plain link: only when you click it does your browser connect to TikTok. Everything on this website is loaded from my own server.
There is no automated decision-making within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR. I do not deliberately transfer your data to countries outside the EU/EEA; the only exception is the DNS lookups of the spam check for incoming emails described below.
Hosting and server logs
The website runs on a server rented from netcup GmbH, Karlsruhe, in a data centre in Germany. netcup processes the data on my behalf under a data processing agreement (Art. 28 GDPR).
When you open a page, your browser sends technical data that the server needs in order to deliver the page: your IP address, the requested address, time, and technical details of the connection such as the browser identifier. The web server does not keep access logs for this website. Technical error messages of the server system can contain IP addresses; they are kept for at most seven days (and at most 512 MiB) and then overwritten.
Legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. My legitimate interest is to deliver this website securely and reliably.
Contact form and email
If you use the contact form, it sends your email address, subject, message and, if you enter it, your name to a contact service on my own server, which forwards them as an email to my own mailbox contact@ln55-studio.com. There are no attachments and no copy to anyone else. The same applies when you write to me by email; then your email provider also processes the message.
To protect against abuse, the contact service keeps your IP address only in the form of a keyed hash (HMAC) together with request counters in memory; these expire after 15 minutes (a global counter after one hour) and are not stored permanently.
Incoming emails are checked for spam and malware on my own mail server. For this, the server asks public DNS reputation lists (DNSWL and SURBL) about the IP address of the delivering mail server and about domain names contained in the message; the DNS infrastructure of these lists may be located outside the EU. No message content is sent. The mail server also logs connections and deliveries (for example the IP address of the delivering server or mail program, sender and recipient address, time and the result of the spam and virus check) to keep the service running and to find errors. These logs are rotated by size (at most three files of 10 MB per mail service) and deleted at the latest when the mail server is reinstalled; there is currently no fixed period in days.
Providing your details is voluntary; without an email address I cannot reply to you.
Legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (answering your request, protection against spam); if your request concerns a contract or its preparation, Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR.
Storage period: I keep your message until your request has been dealt with. Then I move it to the trash, which empties itself automatically 30 days later (at the latest on the following day). Copies in the backups of the mailbox disappear automatically as soon as two newer backups exist.
Letters
Letters to the postal address in the imprint are received on my behalf by Impressum-Privatschutz GmbH, Hamburg, which makes them available to me as a scan. The letter and the data it contains are processed only to pass the letter on to me. Legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (c) GDPR in conjunction with Section 18 (1) MStV (I must be reachable at a postal address) and Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (receiving and answering your letter). I keep scans only as long as needed to deal with your matter, unless a legal obligation requires longer retention.
Downloads and apps
Downloads come from downloads.ln55-studio.com on the same server. For this the server processes the connection data described above; the download service does not keep access logs and only limits the total transfer rate of all downloads together, without remembering individual users. You do not need an account to download. Legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR; my legitimate interest is delivering the downloads securely.

Backups
To be able to restore the service after a failure, I make encrypted backups of the server data (including the mailbox) and store them on my own computer in Germany. Legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR; my legitimate interest is the recoverability of the service. A backup is deleted automatically as soon as two newer complete backups of the same area exist.
Your rights
You have the right to access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18) and data portability (Art. 20). Where processing is based on Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR, you can object to it at any time for reasons arising from your particular situation (Art. 21). Where processing is based on consent, you can withdraw it at any time with effect for the future. Just write to contact@ln55-studio.com or by letter to the address above.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, in particular in the member state of your habitual residence, your place of work or the place of the alleged infringement (Art. 77 GDPR).
